The Florida Eye Education Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in January 2011 to help further Florida Eye Microsurgical Institute’s goals and efforts of providing a variety of charitable, scientific and educational purposes to the local community and beyond.
Some of The Foundation’s goals include:
- To conduct continuing education and informational activities for eye care professionals throughout the year, to keep them informed and up-to-date on the most current ophthalmologic medical treatments, techniques, equipment and procedures available to their own practices and patients.
- To accept donations to be allocated solely towards the treatment of patients who cannot afford medical/surgical services. Donations would be used to cover any and all costs associated with surgeries, follow-up services and medications rendered.
- To pursue charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under the section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
In Memory of Rosa Richards
A scholarship foundation has been established in Rosa’s memory; the “Rosa Richards Memorial Scholarship Fund”. Scholarships will be awarded each year by Palm Beach State College to a student in the new Ophthalmic Technology Program. All monies raised will be designated towards tuition and education-related expenses to help defray costs of a qualifying student’s expenses each year of the two-year Ophthalmologic Medical Technology Associate in Science Degree Program. Rosa was passionate about her work and we know she would be very pleased with this decision. It is a wonderful way to honor a wonderful woman.
Checks should be made out to the Florida Eye Education Foundation and mailed to:
